Five Things to Do On the Cheap in the Moon-Robinson Area

Visit some fun and relatively inexpensive attractions in the region.

By Becky Brindle

We're halfway through summer and stay-at-home moms and dads are listening to their kids yell, "I'm bored!"

Get your children out of the house and explore some of the fun, and rather inexpensive, attractions in the Sewickley area. We got some of these ideas from the 20 Things to Do In Pittsburgh for Under $20 blog. And we added some ideas of our own.

1.  Robinson Clever Park (Free) and Pool ($5/person)

Have fun on wooden playgrounds, plus you can walk back and forth to the pool. It’s also close to Montour Trail and the Mall at Robinson.

2. Moon Park (Free to visit park)

Stop by the park off Ewing Road on Friday evenings all summer for Family Fun Nights or, just enjoy the playgrounds anytime for free.

3. RMU Island Rapids Miniature Golf ($6/adult or $3/child 5 and under)

Escape to Neville Island and play an 18-hole miniature golf course. Set on the shore of the Ohio River, this outdoor course has slopes, two waterfalls and streams throughout the course. Plus there's a Groupon.

4. Sky Zone ($13 for 60 minutes)

The Leetsdale indoor trampoline park at 740 Brickworks Drive is a bouncing dream for any little boy or girl looking to release some energy. On Fridays, don't miss Toddler Time from 11 a.m. to noon for ages walking to 5; Skymania from 9 to 11 p.m. for ages 10 to 15; and Sky Jam 10 p.m. to midnight for ages 16 and up.

5. Cinemark in Robinson ($1 Movies)

On Tuesdays at 10 a.m. the Cinemark in Robinson is offering $1 family movies. If you’ve ever been to this theater, you know it’s amazing. The theater is not too far from Clever Park in Robinson (if you want to make an afternoon out of it).
