Cinco de Mayo/May the Fourth Be With You Fundraiser Saturday

Fans of Star Wars and Cinco De Mayo will be able to enjoy movies, food, fun and more at the Community Reel Art Center’s first-ever Cinco De Mayo/May The Fourth Be With You Fundraiser Event on Saturday, May 4, beginning at 4:30 p.m.

Community Reel Arts Center, a nonprofit organization, invites the public to don their sombreros and bring their Light Sabers and join them in raising funds for renovations to the old Parkway Theater on Broadway Avenue in nearby Stowe Township.

Doors open at 4:30 p.m. with a 21-and-over Cinco Party including a live DJ. The event includes Mariachi and Latin music, taco and beverage bars, pinata and games At 7:15 p.m., a free showing of "Star Wars-Episode IV" will begin, followed by a private, free screening of "Star Wars."

“We want the former Parkway Theater to be the definitive cinema of choice for film lovers and filmmakers alike,” comments Aaron Stubna, Community Reel Arts Center president. “Our mission is to excite folks about learning more about the films they see by showing a variety of domestic independent films, foreign films, and documentaries. The board of directors and our volunteers have a
passion for celebrating and promoting the appreciation and understanding of film.”
