A brave team from the Sewickley Valley YMCA was among the teams to participate in Sunday's Polar Plunge at Heinz Field.

The cold Ohio River wasn't enough to stop some brave souls from jumping in today for a good cause.

For the third year in a row, teams from the Pittsburgh area participating in the 2012 Polar Bear Plunge showed support for the Special Olympics of Pennsylvania by jumping into the Ohio River. Money raised at the plunge helps children and adults with intellectual disabilities improve their physical fitness and confidence through free athletic training.

Local participants included a team of staff from the Sewickley Valley YMCA. (We hear the water was 45 degrees!) Congratulations brave team!
