Moon-Area Seniors Celebrate Christmas in July
AARP Chapter 2203 throws a 'Christmas in July' party this weekend at the Airport Marriott.
AARP's Chapter 2203 celebrated its first Christmas in July fete Sunday at the Pittsburgh .
The chapter's treasurer, Jean Friel, was credited with coming up with the theme for the party.
"It was too hard trying to get everybody to have a party in the winter," she said. "It was either too cold, too dark or the Steelers were playing. I was tired of it. So I decided that if we wanted to have a Christmas party, then we'd have to do it in the middle of summer."

More than 50 area senior citizens attended the event. Archie Brinza was on hand to serve as disc jockey for the event.
