Get Out: Learn to Compost, Go Scuba Diving or Visit the Circus

When/Where: 2 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. Sunday and 5:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Monday, Henle Park, Leetsdale.
Why Go: You won't have to venture far to see old-fashioned circus acts. While there won't be any elephants or tigers, entertainment under a big-top tent will include trapeze artists, bandmasters, jugglers and a petting zoo.

Price: Advance tickets are $10 for adults and free for children. On the day of the event, adults pay $15 and $5 per child Tickets are available from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. weekdays at the borough office and from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Henle Park concession stand.

When/Where: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday through Sunday at the Pittsburgh Zoo and Aquarium, Pittsburgh.
Why Go: Take the kids to the zoo and watch them learn how to scuba dive in a 25,000-gallon pool. Scuba gear will be provided. Participants must be at least 10 years old.
Price: All activities are free and included with general admission, which is $14 for adults, $12 for children ages 2-13. Children younger than 2 get in free.

Why Go: Learn how to properly set up and maintain a compost pile at this workshop. Participants will receive an 80-gallon Earth Machine Compost Bin upon completion of the event.
Price: Cost is $50 per person or $55 per couple. Registration is required.
4. PITTSBURGH PUFFINS VS. STEEL CITY SIRENS
When/Where: 9 p.m. Saturday, RMU Island Sports Center, Neville Island.
Why Go: Even though the Penguins’ hockey season is over, you can still get your fill of the action on the ice by watching women’s ice hockey teams play in a summer preseason scrimmage.
Price: Free admission.
5. DOG DAYZ OF SUMMER DOG SOCIAL AND PET EXPO
Where/When: noon to 6 p.m. Sunday, Misty Pines Dog Park, Franklin Park.
Why Go: Take advantage of the warm weather and spend time outside with the whole family, including the dog. Enjoy games, music and more at the park while helping a good cause. All proceeds will benefit the , which helps provide assistance to families of children with special needs.
Price: Free admission and parking.
