Flooding Leaves Robinson Business With Soggy Yard

Culverts, which coincidentally sells storm drainage pipe, had about 3-feet of water in the front yard.

Workers at Culverts Inc. relocated vehicles and moved electronics to higher ground as rushing creek waters due to flash flooding threatened to push beyond the front steps of the Robinson business.

"I've been here 20 years and we've been flooded out a few times," said Bruce Trest, general manager of the Pittsburgh Street fabricating company in Robinson.

Severe weather affected Robinson, Moon and surrounding communities. Nearby Findlay, North Fayette and Oakdale declared emergency disaster declarations, according to reports.

Culverts, which coincidentally sells pipe for storm drainage, had about 3-feet of water in the front yard on Wednesday afternoon. Directly across the street, the Groveton Park playground was submerged in flood water.

Still, Trest said he's seen worse. In 2005, Hurricane Ivan inundated the business with floodwater.

"It was pretty bad," he said.
