Five Things You Need to Know This Week

Patch gives you a glimpse ahead at what's going on in Moon Township for the week of March 5, 2012.

1. 911th personnel to hear news on assignments

The more than 1,300 military and 318 civillian personnel at the 911th Airlift Wing in Moon on Tuesday will learn their future assignments from the Air Force, according to officials at the air base. The Air Force has said that it will close the 911th as a part of a nationwide initiative to cut federal defense spending.

2. Moon Board of Supervisors to meet

will hold its monthly meeting at 7 p.m. Wednesday in the Moon Municipal Building.

3. Moon Fire Department fish fry scheduled for Friday

The will hold its Lenton fish fry from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the municipal Public Safety Building on Beaver Grade Road. Click for more information.

5. Moon students sing in all-district concert

Students in the will participate in an All-District concert at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the Moon Area High School auditorium. The event is held in honor of March's Music in Our Schools month.
