1. Township of Moon 5K
Join friends and neighbors for a community-oriented recreational 5K now in its fifth year. The 5K begins at 9 a.m. Saturday, June 29 in the GPOA parking area and features challenging hills mixed with gently rolling paved roads around Cherrington Business Center and township roads. Go to www.moonparks.org for more information or call Moon Parks at 412 262-1703. $20 entry fee.2. Lava Game
Enjoy the rock and roll sounds of Lava Game at Moon Park from 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, June 28. Band members include Mike Dunn, Frank Vilsack, Aaron Hreczkosiej, and Jeff Bucci.
3. Wine Tasting: Crazy Grapes
Discover wines that are under the radar at Market District in Robinson on Friday, June 28 from 6 to 8 p.m. Look at the back (sometimes front) labels of wines from Italy, Austria and other countries to sort out a medley of grape varietals. Registration is $35 and includes six 2-ounce pours of wine. Photo identification required.
4. Mike the Knight
Join Nick Jr.'s Mike the Knight on the "Mission for Hidden Treasure Tour" at 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Sunday, June 30 in the Grand Court at the Mall at Robinson. Transport into an imaginative world full of tales and legends with Mike and Squirt in an all-new live show. Have your photo taken with Mike and become an official "knight in training" by earning a certificate. Open to kids of all ages.5. Groundbreaking Read & Watch
On Thursday, June 27 from 5 to 8:30 p.m., go to the Moon Township Library and give your opinion on author Matthew Quick's "Silver Linings Playbook." The book became a groundbreaking film role for Oscar winner Jennifer Lawrence. In this two-part program you’ll read and watch this title, share your thoughts, and eat good food. The first session is a book discussion, so order a copy of the book today. The second session is a movie and “tailgate potluck,” so bring your favorite covered dish, appetizer or dessert to share as you enjoy the show. Registration is mandatory.
