8/8: Help Protect Pittsburgh from Toxic Chemicals this Thursday!

PennPIRG, a statewide consumer group, is planning a press event this Thursday, August 8th, at 11 AM at the Pittsburgh Amtrak Station (near Liberty Ave. and 11th St.) to discuss Pittsburgh and toxic pollution.

As Pittsburghers, we are nestled between two large chemical plants in Mars and Bunola; these plants threaten a combined 885,000 people. We are calling on Gina McCarthy and her EPA to implement stricter transportation and safety requirements to protect our neighborhoods here and across the country.

We've got some great speakers lined up including a local affected resident from Point Breeze and a member of the Learning Disabilities Association of America.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us at 412-421-7978.

Hope to see you Thursday!
