Moon Community Access Television on Tuesday previewed a 30-second public service announcement for the Western Pennsylvania Police Benevolent Foundation.

The ad spot will soon air regularly on MCA-TV and be sent to public television stations throughout the region.

Jerry Keller, a member of the Crescent Township Board of Commissioners and member of the foundation, worked with the television studio to create the advertisment. Five area children also have roles in the commercial.

The announcement encourages public awareness of the foundation, which provides assistance to injured police and the families of police killed in the line of duty. In recent years, Western Pennsylvania has suffered the tragic loss of several of our fine officers as they confront dangerous and sometimes life-threatening situations.

Those who attended the preview were Crescent interim Chief Martin Zimmel and his wife Darlene, Allegheny County Police Officer Chris Ireland, as well as his wife and four children, Robert Morris University athletic director Marty Galosi, his wife and two children, as well as Teresa Volchko, daughters, and Kara Bussard.
