A West Allegheny student was a featured guest on this morning's Today show, where she talked about her struggle with the rare "Sleeping Beauty Syndrome."
Nichole Delien, a 17-year-old who suffers from Kleine-Levin Syndrome, appeared on the NBC morning show alongside her family. The Deliens talked about Nichole's condition—a rare neurological disorder that causes her to periodically fall asleep for days or weeks at a time.

The Delien family discussed Nichole's struggle with Kleine-Levin with Patch earlier this month. Read our story here.
Nichole was also a featured guest on the nationally syndicated Jeff Probst Show, where the family talked about how they cope with the disorder.

Thank you again, Jenna. Words cannot express how thankful we are as a family and part of the KLS community.
If anyone can help aid in research to help find a cause they can visit:
www.KLSFoundation.org
Research has been ongoing but KLS Foundation & Stanford University need all the funding they can get to help individuals dealing with this.
Also, some may think it'd be nice or wish they can sleep this long, but imagine missing everything and not knowing that any time went passed. It's not fair to the children & adults whom missed out on so many lifetime things that they'll never ever get back. My daughter lost 2 relatives during her "episodes" and still can't fathom the loss of her grandfather, who passed away this past March.
