Visions for Vacancy: What Should Move into this Building?
What should move into this abandoned storefront on University Boulevard?
Vacant buildings and unused storefronts are eyesores, but an empty storefront can also be an opportunity. You don't need to be a commercial developer or city planner—or have money to invest in a business project—to have the next great idea.
This vacant storefront at 8754 University Boulevard has a past that might be unsavory for some. Formerly known as the Sports Health Spa, it was raided by law enforcement in 2008 after it was found to be a brothel fronting as a massage parlor.
These days, it sits empty on a piece of prime University Boulevard real estate. It was assessed this year at a market value of $220,300.
What business would benefit the Moon area community? How could this space better serve you and your neighbors? If you had it your way, what would you place in this building?

Nothing should move in there. Tear that building down. It's a shanty and honestly, what respectable company would want to move their business into a massage parlor that was raided by the police for prostitution. It's pretty disgusting to even think about.
It'd actually be nice to see some grass and trees planted somewhere instead of pavement and buildings

Truthfully, could anything be any worse? Is there no ordinace that requires some level of upkeep? Raze the building an empty lot would be easier to sell.

Yeah I'm not sure what can really be done with it. But I do hope something because its an eyesore. Maybe a boutique or some kind of retail. Otherwise I like the idea of tearing it down and putting up a little park!

Tear it down & expand the parking lot for Wings, Suds & Spuds. Getting a parking space and/or just getting in or out of their existing one is very difficult very often.

Tear is down and market the lot for some business to build on. Or Wings, Suds, and Spuds could buy the property and expand the current building and parking, but I don't see that happening. Just another vacant building in Moon that stands empty. The Township needs to do something with this and the others and get some businesses in them.
