Residents can catch a glimpse inside the old Moon Area High School, which is in the the midst of being transformed into the district's new middle school.

Photos that the Moon Area School District recently released take residents inside the extensive renovation project, which includes expanding and retrofitting the building.

District spokeswoman Megan Gallagher said the building, which was constructed in 1967, is slated to open for district middle-schoolers in fall 2012. The current Moon Area Middle School will be demolished next year.

The district's new, $76 million high school opened to students on Feb. 1.
