James Joseph Doolan
James Joseph Doolan, 88, of Moon Township, died June 8.
Born Feb. 27, 1924 in Ohio, he was married to Lois Kretovics Doolan for 64 years and was the father of Daniel Doolan, Patrick Doolan, Mary Lou Altfather, Jay Doolan, Constance Guillen, Jennifer Bafile, Kathleen Morris, Wendy Doolan and Sean Doolan and the grandfather of many grandchildren.
Doolan was a Navy veteran of World War II and a retired operations manager for United Airlines as well as a member of the Coraopolis VFW Post 402 and parishioner at St. Margaret Mary Church.
Services were conducted earlier this month at St. Margaret Mary, including military honors.
Albert A. Peroni
Albert A. Peroni, 86, of Moon Township, died June 7.
He was born Aug. 19, 1925 in Boggs, PA and was married for 59 years to Emma R. Sandaroni Peroni and the father of Karen Barry Horlick and Janet Krysalka and a grandfather of two.
He retired from U.S. Steel American Bridge Division after 34 years of service. He was a Navy veteran of World War II and member of St. Margaret Mary Church.
Services were held earlier this month. Entombment was conducted at Resurrection Cemetery.
Richard D. Shandick
Richard D. Shandick, 75, of Crescent Township, died June 7 in his home after a battle with cancer.
He was born in Ambridge on April 8, 1937 and is survived by his wife of 50 years, Dian Minnemeyer Shadick as well as two sons, Dale Shandick and Scott Schandick. He was the grandfather of four grandchildren.
Shandick was a graduate of Moon Area High School in 1955 and served in the U.S. Army. He was a member of the Riverdale Presbyterian Church and owned Shandick Auto Repair in Crescent for more than 40 years.
Services were conducted earlier this month. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Riverdale Presbyterian Church or the American Cancer Society.
