Moon Schools Under Two-Hour Delay, OLSH Cancels Classes

Snow, winter weather put area events on hold.

The Moon Area School District and the Rhema Christian School will open later today after a two-hour delay. Classes at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart, however, are cancelled.

The National Weather Service in Pittsburgh has placed the region under a winter storm warning until 6 p.m. Snow showers with snow blowing across roadways is expected throughout the day as low pressure moves offshore from New England. 

According to the National Weather Service: An additional 4 to 8 inches of snow arre expected, and visibility for motorists is expected to be less than a mile.  Wind gusts are measured at 10 to 15 mph, but could reach 30 mph by this afternoon.
