Two Moon Area High School students won top honors after competing in the Civics Fair 2011, a collaboration between Greater Pittsburgh Student Voices and the Youth Media Advocacy Project.

Ashley Hall placed first for her entry focused on women's suffrage history. Allison Murphy placed third for an entry detailing the importance of student involvement in politics.

Other students who participated in the event included Mai Casteveter, Anurag Purker and Dakota Talbott.
