Moon Residents Asked to Sponsor Rain Garden Walkway

The township kicks off its brick-sponsorship campaign to defray costs of the new garden.

Moon officials are inviting residents to sponsor memorial bricks in the township's new rain garden.

Residents may purchase 4-by-8-inch commemorative bricks in the garden's walkway for $65 for the first brick and $50 for additional bricks. Businesses may purchase 8-inch-by-8-inch bricks for $200.

The garden, which was installed earlier this summer by the Audubon Society of Western Pennsylvania and Fed Ex employee volunteers, is located between the township Municipal and Public Safety buildings.

The engraved bricks will be placed in the pathway circling the township's new 9/11 memorial, which will be crafted from a piece of World Trade Center steel.

The township will hold a dedication ceremony for the garden and new memorial at 10 a.m. Sept. 11. at 1000 Beaver Grade Road.
