Moon Resident Could Be Deported from U.S.

Man indicted by federal grand jury.

A Sharon Road resident is charged with illegally returning to the United States and could face deportation.

Jaime Silva-Martinez, 31, was indicted by a federal grand jury in Pittsburgh this week on one count of illegally re-entering the country.  U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement conducted an investigation into his residency earlier this year.

Silva-Martinez was first removed from the U.S. in April 2007 by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, according to the indictment. He returned to the country and was again deported in March 2009.  He was discovered most recently living in Moon on May 1, 2010.

If convicted, Silva-Martinez faces a maximum two-year prison sentence and a maximum $250,000 fine.  Assistant U.S. Attorney Paul E. Hill is prosecuting the case.
