Moon Township has been named as one of the top communities in the Pittsburgh region for home sales.
RealStats, a Pittsburgh-area real estate data firm, named Moon as the ninth strongest residential community in the Pittsburgh metro area, based on the number of home sales from 2000 to 2011 and the total dollar volume of those homes.
During the last decade, the township raked in some $70,506,722 in total dollar volume from home sales, RealStats reports.
Other communities that rounded out the list include Pine and Franklin townships and Upper St. Clair. Cranberry notched the top spot.
