Hearing Postponed for Woman Charged with Prostitution in Moon

Moon Police charged a Dayton woman with acting as a prostitute earlier this month.

A preliminary hearing has been continued for an Ohio woman charged with acting as a prostitute in Moon Township.

Desiree Nicole Owens, 22, of Dayton, was arrested Dec. 3 at the Motel 6 on Thorn Run Road after police said she agreed to meet with an undercover police officer to have sex in exchange for money, according to a criminal complaint.

Owens agreed to have sex with the officer for a total of $300, according to police.

The woman advertised escort services in the area on the classifieds website BackPages.com, police allege.

Police seized $100 cash, condoms and a cell phone from Owens.

A preliminary hearing slated for today in Coraopolis District Court has been rescheduled for Jan. 15, according to court records.
