Hearing Postponed for Man Accused of Lurking Outside of Moon Apartments

A man charged with prowling outside of women's township apartments will face a preliminary hearing in July.

A Mercer County man who police said lurked outside of apartment windows to watch women undress will appear for a preliminary hearing July 10 in Coraopolis District Court.

Brian Williams, 36, of Greenville, was scheduled to appear for a preliminary hearing today in district court, but that hearing has been re-scheduled for July. He was charged by Moon Police with seven counts of invasion of privacy, defiant trespass and loitering and prowling at night.

Police said they found Williams loitering on the evening of March 26 outside of a women's apartment window at the Waterford Landing apartment complex. After he was taken into custody, Williams gave a statement to police admitting that he repeatedly traveled to Moon Township to watch women undress, according to police records.

He has no prior criminal history, police said. It is unclear why Williams targeted Moon Township apartment complexes.

Williams told police that he watched women ages 19 to 31 for "the purpose of sexual gratification" and sometimes masturbated while watching the women from outside their windows, according to a police report.

The arrest came after dozens of reports of a peeping tom in the township.
