Ewing Road Interchange to be Named for Former Moon Official

The traffic interchange at Interstate 376 and Ewing Road will be named after a former member of the Moon Board of Supervisors.
Township resident Jack Wise, who was first appointed to the board to fill a vacancy in 1981, served as both a supervisor and founding member of the Moon Transportation Authority and Thorn Run Interchange group.
Wise, a former candidate for the state legislature, is credited with cultivating public-private partnerships that lead to intersection improvements in Moon.
He continued to sit on the board until 1989, said Moon communications director Alexis Sergeant.
Rep. Mark Mustio, R-Moon, introduced a bill during the 2012 legislative season to rename the Ewing Road roundabout as the "Jack Wise Interchange," in honor of the former supervisor.
The bill was signed into law by Gov. Tom Corbett in October 2012. The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation will soon install signage at the intersection in recognition of Wise.
Township and state officials will officially rename the interchange during a March 14 ceremony at the Moon Municipal Building, according to Mustio's office.
The Allegheny County Airport Authority in 2011 completed a $950,000 overhaul of the Ewing Road interchange, installing a roundabout to accomodate increased traffic in the area.
In 2011, the Thorn Run Interchange in Moon was named in honor of former supervisor Robert Harper.

Hello,
I don’t cover police in Bellevue borough (nor, for that matter, do any Patch reporters in Pittsburgh).
Looks like Andrew Gribben, who is a member of the Moon Board of Supervisors, was charged with DUI on July 1, 2012 in Bellevue, according to court records.
One of the charges (DUI with highest rate of blood alcohol content) was withdrawn in district court, another charge (making an unsafe u-turn) was dismissed. The other charges were adjudicated; for the other two charges, he was to take part in six months in the county’s Accelerated Rehabilitative Disposition program, according to court records.

What a wonderful idea to name the Ewing Interchange in honor of Jack Wise. Jack was a hard working individual for the Township. He touched many lives in a positive way.
