Robber Holds Uni-Mart Clerk at Gunpoint, Flees with Cash
Moon Police say the suspect escaped on foot.
Moon Police said a robber held a Uni-Mart clerk at gunpoint while he took an undisclosed amount of money from the Coraopolis Heights Road store.
The incident marks the second armed robbery in the past six months at the convenience store and gas station.
A Uni-Mart employee said a man in his early 20s brandishing a gun walked into the store at 2 a.m. May 19 and demanded money from the cash register. Police did not disclose the amount of money taken from the store.
The suspect may have fled through a nearby wooded area, police said. No injuries were reported.
The robbery was captured on the store's surveillance camera, according to a police statement. Center Township Police's canine unit assisted with the investigation.
The suspect is described as being a white male in his early 20s, 5-foot-5 with a thin build. He was wearing a gray-hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans and a ccamouflage hat. Police said he covered his face with a cloth.
The store was robbed at gunpoint on December 9 by a man wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, police said.

If Uni-Mart hired a few prostitutes to work the midnight shift,do you think they would ever be robbed again? Priorities seem to indicate this would be the wise move for ownership.

seen2mch, so what is your solution, a cop in front of every store, business, and residence in Moon? Someone could break into your house right now and rob you. I heard a lot of effort went into trying to find this individual, don't know if they caught him or not.

My point was...had your business been robbed at gunpoint as recently as December, wouldn`t you like to think that your police department would be extra vigilant to ensure it didn`t happen again? Kip`s store front broken into across the street from the police station...copper stolen from the new middle school a block away from the station...now this,c`mon man what are their priorities?
Seriously?!

seen2mch, how could the police be extra vigilant to stop a robbery? They obviously cannot spend all thier time hanging around where crime had previously taken place. If that was possible, they would need one cop per block in Moon. There are videos out there of people robbing stores while ther are uniformed police inside the store. So much for deterrence.... And what does proximity of crime to the police station have to do with priorities? People will commit crime anywhere. Most of the time the police aren't even in the station. The police are there to respond to reports of crime, investigate, and arrest suspects. I understand you think prostitution arrests are a priority just because you read about it occationally on here. If you really knew what the police did on a daily basis, you would soon realize it is not a priority. It is mearly a crime in which the police can be pro active about enforement. But if you know of burglay and armed robbery suspects that advertise on the internet they are doing their business in Moon, you be sure to call the police and let them know.

This just happened again yesterday. Once again the criminal got away, but the worker tried to stop him.

Hello,
Patch just spoke to a clerk at the store who confirmed that there was an armed robbery at 12:30 a.m. this morning. We should have more information in a bit.
