Building Setbacks, No Fire Sprinklers Approved for Cimarron Plan
A waiver request was granted for a township residential plan.
The company was seeking exemptions for the Cimarron residential housing development off Spring Run Road Extension, asking to reduce the minimum side-yard setbacks between houses in the plan from 16 to 10 feet without installing fire sprinkler systems.
The 10-foot setbacks without a sprinkler system are in compliance with Pennsylvania's statewide building code, however Moon's fire marshal and building inspector recommend that a waiver request still be granted for such constructions in the township.
The fire marshal and building inspector recommended the waiver, provided that the side yards be cleared of landscaping to allow emergency vehicles on the properties.
The board approved the wavier in a 4-to-1 vote. Frank Sinatra cast the dissenting vote.
Developers have planned to construct 155 single-family homes in the development.
