On Saturday, December 1, 2012, Coraopolis will be showcased during Celebrate Coraopolis 2012. Modeled after a holiday event that took place in 1997 that drew in thousands of people, Celebrate Coraopolis is a day-long event featuring a welcome breakfast, music, family activities, strolling carolers, pictures with Santa and more.

This special day will not only highlight the best Coraopolis has to offer, but also encourage participants to Shop in local businesses, Learn about Coraopolis organizations and partnership opportunities, Give help to individuals in need through clothing, food and toy drives, Eat at local restaurants (restaurants will be encouraged to consider special offerings for the day) and Play through various children’s activities and crafts.

The Coraopolis Community Development Foundation (CCDF) is leading this effort; along with a host committee made up of community volunteers, and is seeking the involvement of local businesses, restaurants, churches, clubs/organizations, and schools to truly make this a community-wide celebration. Robert Morris University and Eger Eye Group are among the leading sponsors for the event. 

Members of the Coraopolis business community are being asked to consider partnering with the CCDF on this effort by signing on as Partner Businesses and/or sponsoring the event.

Proceeds from this event will benefit the programs of the Coraopolis Community Development Foundation, which so far this year has given over $12,000 in direct assistance and provided 14,000 pounds of food assistance to over 300 families.
